Three classes are available on a Monday evening (from April 2020), designed to promote fitness and mental wellbeing while having fun and enjoying the traditional qualities of ballet.
No previous experience is necessary and the classes contain people of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities, just a shared love of ballet and the wish to understand the discipline better. You do not need any special dress, comfy clothing or your usual gym outfit is perfect, we recommend you wear ballet shoes but if this is your first time, yoga socks are a great place to start.
You are welcome to choose between the two types of class or join us for both depending on your goals and if you would like to come along and try us out, contact Tina who will be happy to advise you further.
7:30 – 8:30
Suitable for complete beginners, those who wish to keep fit or as a warm up class for the Adult Graded Class.
Class Overview: Basic warm up exercises including barre work, centre work and the option to take the NATD Adult Fit syllabus during the exam weekend.
8.40 – 9.40
Suitable for those with some experience or those who would like to push themselves towards a standard exam syllabus. A faster paced class than Adult Fit.
Class Overview: Following the NATD syllabus to learn specific combinations of steps and routines with the goal of achieving a graded exam although taking the exam itself is in no way compulsory.
All classes will have opportunities to perform but this is not compulsory, we want you to enjoy all the experiences that ballet has to offer. For term dates, please check the Timetable page for more information.
