I am really pleased to hear the Adult students are interested in Pointe work! Some are starting from new, some are returning to it after a break but all are keen to push themselves and explore what they can achieve in this technical and wonderful aspect of ballet. As always, we like to listen and provide where possible, so I am happy to announce we have now added a Pointe work lesson extension to the class on Tuesdays in Blandford. Good luck, and enjoy!
Happy New Year everyone! 2023 promises to be exciting, looking forward to dancing with you all, working towards exams, our End of term Display and our Christmas From-Scratch performance! I have already started to plan the From-Scratch show, so I will announce more details during the year.

During the pandemic, Tina took the opportunity to complete the NATD Contemporary Dance Teachers Course. The NATD syllabus employs contact work between dancers, release technique, fall and recovery, floorwork and improvisation, creative freedom and understanding of choreography. Feeling inspired, Tina is hoping to get Murilova’s Contemporary Classes up and running again in the New Year.

In all the craziness of the last few months, we forgot to announce that Ali has achieved a new qualification! Ali is now able to deliver the NATD Diamonds programme, a series of considerations when teaching anyone who is over the age of 50 so that the syllabus can be tailored to suit their particular challenges and requirements – congratulations Ali.

WE ARE BACK! Tina is very pleased to announce that after weeks of not being able to be in the studio together, Autumn term will commence on the 14th September. Current students will have received all the information they require to stay safe when coming to the studio and Tina, Ali & Gemma are looking forward to welcoming you all back.
Would you like to join us in September? Contact Tina to chat about your requirements and to discuss which class will be most suitable for you or your child.

Huge congratulations to Tina for successfully becoming an N.A.T.D. examiner, a prestigious appointment within the association. Tina was invited to the headquarters in Birmingham to discuss the potential of the position and a few days later was informed that due to her fabulous CV and passion for the syllabus, she was going to be included as a new examiner. Tina will now be invited across the UK to examine other schools and be able to represent Murilova Ballet School wherever she goes. Well done Tina, we are so proud of you!

Every year MBS celebrate the hard work and fun that goes on in the studio with an end of term display. All proceeds from this go to a charity chosen by the children. Recently, we have donated to MIND and Dorset Children’s Foundation plus a special donation in honour of Grace Greenway who founded the school.

Best of luck to Naomi Booker, who starts at Arts Educational this term and will be studying a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre – break a leg and don’t forget us!

MBS have really enjoyed performing in local residential homes for the elderly, most recently on stage at the Burwood Nursing Home in Broadstone. It was so lovely to be able to share what we love doing.

Some of our students had a fantastic day at Weymouth Ballet School, where they danced in a workshop taken by Wayne Sleep. They had such fun in class and learning some repertoire from Coppelia.

Lots of our dancers are keen to take their Duke of Edinburgh award, and use their lessons at MBS as a part of that. Well done to those dancers that have completed the award so far, it is a real achievement.
Tina Marsh successfully trained Bethany Hayes for her Associate teaching qualification, for which she was awarded Distinction. She is now at London Contemporary Dance School and is able to teach Classical ballet up to Intermediate level. Well done Bethanie!
